The Arts Council for the South Shuswap Society was founded in 2015 by a highly committed group of six individuals who recognized a need for an over-reaching organization to assist with the creation and fostering of arts and culture in the Shuswap.
The Society was incorporated via name change in March of 2015 and currently oversees seven arts initiatives in the region: Music in the Bay, Shuswap Culture, FACES Dance, Music and Art Classes, the Shuswap Artisan Market, the Small Hall Music Crawl, South Shuswap Children's Theatre, the Shuswap Children's Choir and the Adult Contemporary Choir.
The Arts Council for the South Shuswap Society is a registered non-profit organization with a charity taxation number. The Arts Council can serve as an umbrella host organization for those non-profit groups wanting to apply for grant-in-aid funding with local, provincial or federal government organizations or charity foundation groups.
