The Arts Council for the South Shuswap is pleased to welcome
two new instructors to the FACES family!
Miss Brooke Richardson will serve as our Dance Mistress for the
coming year. She is an accomplished dancer who is also part of
Salmon Arm’s Shuswap Dance Centre. We are eager to enter this
collaboration with the highly regarded Shuswap Dance Centre.
This year, Miss Brooke will be instructing the FACES students in
Ballet, Jazz, Acro, Contemporary and Lyrical.
Miss Brooke has gained extensive dance and performance experience, appearing as a Guest Artist with Ballet Kelowna to attending and performing in New York at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. She has also attended classes at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts in Los Angeles, the Groove Street Dance Convention in Vancouver & has attended numerous summer intensives at Harbour Dance Centre.
Studying under the artistic direction of Carolyn Wonacott, Miss Brooke has studied Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, Acro and Musical Theatre. Her dance training has been further complimented by receiving instruction from Raelynn Heppell, Chelsey Klim, Cera Bollo, Laura Paiement, Penelope Boyse, Moe Brody, Joe Tulio, Julio Fuentes, Ken Yung and Sarah Brewer.
Miss Brooke holds her Advanced I in both Ballet and Modern, having passed both ISTD Exams in 2016. She is eager to share her dance expertise and experience with the students of FACES. Please welcome Miss Brooke to our studios.
The Arts Council for the South Shuswap is pleased to
also welcome Ms. Jacquie Middlekoop to assist with the
dance instruction this year.
Ms. Jacquie will be teaching the Preschool Ballet (3/4 Years)
and Beginner Ballet (5 to 6 years) for the 2019/2020 year.
Ms. Jacquie has many years of Royal Academy of Dance Ballet
training, having passed her RAD exams up to the Elementary
level. She was a corps member of the acclaimed Royal City
Youth Ballet and learned her art under Mr. Li Ya Ming, Ms.
Camilla Fishwick and Dolores Kirkwood of Kirkwood Academy.
As a young adult, Ms. Jacquie continued her dance training while attending the University of Calgary under the tutelage of Ms. Darcy McGee.
As a member of the RCYB, Ms. Jacquie performed The Nutcracker, touring the West of Coast of North America extensively each year. She was also cast in key roles in other productions, such as Coppelia. In addition to Ballet, Ms. Jacquie has received years of training in Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre. She has also trained in Flamenco and other dance forms while attending Master Classes led by Reid Anderson, Director of the National Ballet of Canada.
Ms. Jacquie, together with her husband and two children, aged 4 and 10, have recently relocated to the Shuswap. She is eager to work with the FACES dance families. Please welcome Ms. Jacquie.
